Sorry about that! Uploaded the original file instead of this!!:( Hope you have the patience to look again!!:eyes:

My apologies for the size but Please Enlarge

Finally finished the “The Cold Spell” [link] at least as far as I want to take it at the moment!:phew:

I didn't want to update the previous work, as I think it stands in it's own right as a portrait of my son. However, my original idea, alluded to in the title, was to create a fantasy piece... and so this finished work now uploaded is the end result!

All the photographic elements in the work are mine, and I'll try and upload the components soon...if there's any interest... then you'll be able to see how far I had to change things to achieve the look I was after. For example, to get the clarity I was striving for, I had to take a series of photographs of my son's hand so that each finger would be close up and in focus, and then re-assemble each part of the hand in the scene. Having any part of his hand suffer 'depth of field' would not have looked right when the background and head were in sharp focus.

Original file is 5847x3168

Sorry, not a very long comment this time around, but a brief two cents. I like what you did with the eyes, the hand, and the water, it's really nifty and interesting. I'm not fond of the background as part of this piece, however. It's great seperate, and a good picture, but I think as a background for this, it has too much detail and too much going on, and draws the attention away from the figure. But again, really great and awesome work on the person and their magic, it looks great from that angle.
